Coupsy is developed and operated by João Ascenso, based in Leiria, Portugal. For any privacy-related requests, please use the contact form on this website or email support@ascenso.pt.
2. Data We Collect
The Coupsy app is designed with privacy in mind. The following data may be processed:
- Data you provide — any content you create within the app (such as entries, settings, or configurations) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync features.
- Crash and diagnostic data — anonymised crash reports may be collected automatically by the platform (Apple App Store / Google Play) to help us improve app stability. This data is subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
- Device permissions — the app may request access to device features (such as Bluetooth, camera, or location) only when required for core functionality. These permissions are always optional and can be revoked in your device settings.
3. Purpose and Legal Basis
- App data is processed solely to provide the functionality you requested — on the basis of contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Crash diagnostics are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to maintain app stability and quality.
4. Third-Party Services
The app may integrate with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
No data is sold or shared with advertisers.
5. Data Storage and Retention
By default, all data created in Coupsy is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. If cloud features are available and enabled, your data is retained until you delete your account or request erasure.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you
- Request rectification or erasure
- Restrict or object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD)

Coupsy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
